Julie Peadon

Julie Peadon is an award winning artist who has a passion to share her skills with all who want to explore creative expression.

From a varied career in banking, to a full time mum of three and now business owner and director with a creative career in visual arts practice. 

Julie teaches fine art from her studios and gallery in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Drummoyne. Julie works closely with her team, local artists, business owners, government and the local community in making art accessible. Her works are held in private and government collections as well as public and community spaces. Julie was the City of Canada Bay Arts & Culture Citizen of the Year in 2021 and has been a Finalist in the Sustainability Awards, Child Friendly in 2021/22 and Resilience in 2022. Julie is also a founding member of the Drummoyne Art Trail and a member of the City of Canada Bay’s Arts & Culture Committee.

Julie has studied fine art techniques, including at the National Art School, and art history at the University of Sydney. Julie holds a BA, a Grad. Dip in Science and a Masters in Business. She regularly undertakes studies and courses with other artists to learn new techniques and share ideas and enjoys exhibiting as regularly as possible. 

Julie’s Fine Art Practice

Julie undertakes numerous custom commissions and loves to explore new techniques. She uses diverse mediums such as graphite, charcoal, acrylics, oils, pastels, ink, watercolour, mixed media and recycled materials.

“I thrive on variety and use styles and techniques that respond to the subject. I paint and draw many subjects including landscape, portraiture and abstraction”. Julie also demonstrates regularly at various art society events, at the Royal Easter Show and at community events.

Anna Efverman

Meet The Artist!

Friday 15 November6.30pm-8pm


Anna, born in Sweden, has painted since she was a teenager and is a graduate of Stockholm School of Arts. She travelled the world for six years before settling in Australia.

Anna’s “Home” body of work is on display in the studios this month and focuses on a series of ocean inspired imagery.

Anna is also a crime fiction author and her Swedish bestselling novels (‘The Sydney Series’) have been translated to English! She has also painted portraits of her main book characters!

These pieces and more will be available for viewing and purchase at our Gallery Open Night where Anna will also give an Atist Talk from 7pm.

Julie’s Philosophy

“Art has been constant throughout human history; from origins in prehistoric and First Nations art through to the Renaissance and the modern, contemporary art we see today. I believe we all have an innate ability to create, regardless of our age, our background, or our skills.

You can always Start With Art, no matter where you are on your art journey. My focus is creating a fun fine art experience for all through an engaging teaching style and a fun fine art curriculum”.

Natalia Benc

Natalia is a graduate in Fine Art, Psychology and Business. Natalia comes with a fresh perspective on art practice and is warm and engaging in her teaching style. She loves the outdoors and getting back to nature. Natalia enjoys working with our K-6 classes and our Teens. She especially loves seeing how each student grows in confidence each week.

Sandy Bertoia

Sandra (Sandy) is a passionate artist who loves exploring new and interesting paint techniques. With a background in finance and legal, Sandy has studied art for many years and most recently with Julie previously and enjoys combining her love of working with children and art and in seeing the students produce their pieces each week.  

Vicki Tara Taylor

Vicki Tara Taylor is a Sydney based intuitive abstract artist who loves to create textured, vibrant and colourful artworks. She paints with inspiration and loves to communicate a
colourful conversation that dances across the canvas. Vicki is a talented and passionate artist, is a qualified teacher in primary education and a mum of two wonderful adult children.

Maddy McMillan

Maddy is an experienced educator who is passionate about working with both children and adults to improve their wellbeing by exploring creativity.

She is studying to become an art therapist. Maddy brings an exceptional understanding of wellbeing, warmth and light heartedness to our studios.

Lisa Napoli

Lisa is a graphic designer and transitioned to painting. She particularly loves exploring different mediums, styles, techniques and enjoys the process of developing shapes and colours to see “what comes from within”. She finds process art very satisfying. Lisa believes any art form, be it sculpture, paint or ceramics as something to be passionate about. For Lisa, “it’s all about bringing ideas to life and watching people’s faces transform with joy as they realise they do have an inner artist in them after all”.

Chloe Cassidy

Chloe attended Balmain Art School and National Art School and is a full time nanny and exhibiting artist, having sold work locally and internationally. She loves to combine her passion for art with her love of working with children. Chloe has worked in a wide range of mediums but is most drawn to the use of watercolour in her artworks.’

Karen Moses

Karen went to Bradfield college where she studied art and design fundamentals, then went on to study watercolour at Julien Ashton College. Karen loves working with all types of art mediums including watercolour, acrylic and coloured pencils, and even makes her own jewellery out of gem stones and macrame, wire and metal work!
Art is a passion of Karen’s, which she wants to share with the world in as many ways as she can, helping people of all ages get in touch with their inner artists and be creative in every area of their lives to find their own unique passion.

Rachel Bolton

Rachel Bolton has a B.A. in Visual Arts and is a practising Artist, focused on capturing details in nature. She has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and art prizes. In addition to teaching art classes, she is a Primary School and Special Needs Teacher. 

Rachel Carroll

Rachel has been a practising artist for over 25 years with numerous awards and exhibitions. Rachel holds a Masters in Visual Arts. With an expressive style, Rachel has a particular interest in environmental art. Rachel is well versed in many mediums, most recently encaustic art and has been teaching art to adults and children for over 10 years.

Dr Ada Leung

Our beautiful Ada passed away suddenly in September 2023. We honour her contribution to our studios. Ada was one of the first team members to join us. She combined her Asian and Australian heritage together with her love of science in her art. Ada had a particular affinity for sculpture and printing techniques. She touched so many of our students and her love of bright colours, textures and marvellous composition will stay with us. Thank you Ada for making our world so much brighter.

Benji The Westie

Our loveable Studio pup Benji joined the family in April 2023, following in the beloved pawprints of Archie & Allie before him.
Benji’s favourite pastimes are laying about in the studio while fur-mumma Julie creates her artistic masterpieces!
Benji also loves watching the kids do their classes in the afternoon, and when the studio is quiet, he enjoys snoozing on his fluffy day bed or chomping on the faux fiddle leaf figs and chasing the coconut fibre he’s stolen from the studio pot plants!

Adele Atton

Adele is our support and bookings wizard who processes your bookings and helps find you classes and workshops. Adele is a master administrator and a bit of a whizz at excel and other organisational tools – and she loves it! Adele is a mum to three fur children.

Studio 71 at Julie Peadon Art is a working studio, gallery and process based art teaching space.

As well as term classes, school holiday programs, family workshops, birthday parties and private events, our corner position with two studios and 10 metres of window space is perfect for artists wanting to showcase to the Inner West community!
